Clean with the cloth

Rinse off dust or sand with lukewarm water first, then dry with the microfibre cloth in your case. Rubbing grit across a lens is the fastest way to scratch it.

• Avoid tissues, paper towels and shirt hems.
• Skip household glass cleaners and solvents.
• Wash the cloth now and then; it holds on to oils.

Keep them in the case

Your frames come with a hard case. Use it in bags and pockets, and never set sunglasses down lens-first.

• Put them on and take them off with both hands.
• Don’t push them up onto your head; it stretches the fit.
• Any optician can adjust a loose fit in a few minutes.

Keep away from heat

A car dashboard in summer can warp acetate and damage lens coatings. Keep frames in the case, out of direct sun, when you’re not wearing them. Rinse after the beach or the pool; salt and chlorine are hard on hinges.
